COURTNEY + SCOTT WEDDING DAY

They met in foods class in high school.  Courtney distinctly remembers thinking to herself “I could be sitting next to my future husband and wouldn’t even know it.” Little did she know – she was. Courtney’s first impression of Scott was that he was charming with a great sense of humor.  Scott was just focused on her eyes… and her soccer pants.
They started dating and the relationship grew and continued for 6 years.  On December 5, 2020, Scott brought Courtney up to the ice hockey rink.  He had made an “oldies love song” playlist. “When Bella Notte was playing – he spun me around, and while I was spinning, he got down on one knee. I don’t know how to stop, so I just skated right into him”.
A little over a year later, the two promised forever the week before Christmas in front of their family and friends. Enjoy a look at Scott and Courtney’s wedding day! “I wore my mom’s wedding band that we had fashioned into a necklace and earrings, I wore my grandma’s ring and Scott’s birthstones in my hairpin. I also incorporated our Irish heritage by wearing my Claddagh ring and a Celtic knot belt.” “I couldn’t wait to see Scott for the first time – and show him my dress, which I knew would surprise him by my choice in dress style.  Our first look was at our favorite park where we go frequently with our fur babies. It’s a moment we will get to enjoy over and over.”Courtney and Scott have a heart for rescue dogs.  Their 3 sweet pups (one they rescued just a couple of weeks before the wedding) had to be a part of their day, so they did a first look with them as well.  You know you’re a good dog mom when you let your dog jump onto your lap in your wedding dress.  These two are so magical together.  The way they interact is so fully present and as if no one else is around. Their love is like an old soul.

The two had their ceremony and reception at the O’Day Lodge in O’Fallon MO.  “We wanted to choose our food and decor – I also liked the look of a lodge, I felt I could make my vision come true in the space.” Courtney walked down the aisle to You are my sunshine –  “Scott always sings that to me.”   “During our moment of silence for family members no longer with us, a family member misheard and let out a “woohoo”. We felt that was Scott’s brother, Tim, showing us he was with us at our wedding, getting in a good laugh. “First Dance Song: I can’t help falling in love – Elvis Presley.  “It describes our love well – natural and meant to be.”Father-Daughter Dance Song: In my daughter’s eyes.  “My dad and I always listened to this together growing up.” Mother-Son Song – When you wish upon a star – Billy Joel “Scott and his mom share a love for Billy Joel.”

Scott and Courtney cherished being able to celebrate with their friends and family all night.  In fact, they would have liked to have more time to dance and enjoy their party a bit more.  At the end of the night, they didn’t want it to end, but were “also in need of a good massage haha.”  Now that the I dos are said and the day is a month in the past, the two have advice to future couples getting married – Courtney says to “Take moments to enjoy your wedding day – the most important thing is that you two are enjoying it.” While Scott – completely unprompted advises “Do what your wife says.”  Scott understood the assignment.

The two are planning to honeymoon in Scotland & Ireland this May to road trip around the countries.
They call Oakville MO home.
