Kelsey + Chris Wedding Day

Kelsey was working at a local bar when Chris started coming in on occasion. Somehow they ended up on the same softball team, and soon became friends.  Their softball team won the championship, and after the game the two celebrated at Sam’s pizza and everything from there changed.  It wasn’t love at first sight, but it was a love that grew and developed over time into something strong and beautiful.

They dated for 4 years, but Chris will attest he knew she was “the one” a month in.  So on Thanksgiving weekend with Kelsey’s family around them, Chris got down on one knee with a ring and… smiled silently.  As he knelt there for what felt like an eternity without saying anything, Kelsey finally asked “Are you going to ask me or not?” Eventually he did, and they celebrated with gas station wine that her brother in law bought since he was in charge of the celebratory cocktails.

On 7/6/19 the cocktails and celebration was a bit more elaborate, as Kelsey and Chris said “I do”.  Enjoy a peek at their beautiful day!

Being the weekend of the 4th of July, the two had a subtle nod to red white and blue with a glitz and glam twist.

Kelsey didn’t pick out a certain bridesmaids dress for her girls to get, but instead said choose your style just make it gold.  And it certainly turned out perfectly!  Love the way they all look together!

These boys though. LOL. They were the right amount of fun and cooperation, but in all honesty I’m pretty sure they just did what we said so they could get back to the air conditioning and cold beverages as soon as possible because good lawd it was hot.Speaking of hot…These two are so stunning together.Sometimes I think it’s just best to not try to explain the situation, but to just allow you to take it in for yourself. lolIf you’re gonna request a ‘3 generations of married couples’ photo, I’m gonna request that you kiss for it. 😉Kelsey and Chris’s reception was at the incredible Old Wick’s Factory in Highland IL.  They were one of the first couples to book the venue as it was being remodeled, and they put their faith in the fact that it would turn out perfect.  They definitely did the right thing!  The venue is not only gorgeous, but so well run.  Highland IL needed this venue and we hope for the opportunity to work there again in the future!I don’t know what y’all are trying to do to my waistline this year but dang!Since her dad had passed and she wasn’t able to have a father daughter dance on her wedding day, Kelsey’s had a special dance with all the important men the shaped her life, as well as her momma.and as you can see, there wasn’t a dry eye in the place. Including my own.

More about the day from the bride and groom…

  • It was Fourth of July weekend so the theme was supposed to reflect that in a subtle way. Navy and red for accents and lots of glitz and glam.. also BBQ because what’s the fourth without BBQ
  • We both looked forward to the band and the celebration and it did not disappoint! Even though it was hot so many stayed to celebrate with us until the last possible moment!
  • Kelsey– turning the corner to walk down the aisle.. I was NOT expecting that Chris would cry
Chris-watching Kelsey walk down the aisle
  • The priest called me “Kelley” on accident during our vows and since it has become a nickname! Also our welcome sign died with a big gust of wind! Such is life.
  • Not a chance.. it was everything we could have wanted and more
  • Don’t sweat the small stuff.. it’s not a matter of IF something will go wrong it is more of a matter of WHEN.. enjoy the day and be in the moment because it’s the people there that are important not the material things.
