Rachel and Kyle have been dating 10 years! They are high school sweet hearts. The two met on a school bus her freshman year and his sophomore, and Kyles friend slipped Rachel a note telling her that Kyle liked her! (She remembers it distinctly because his friend spelled “like” wrong) Soon after he asked her to homecoming and to be his girlfriend.
A few years later, he asked her another important question. It was a Friday night, the first football game of the high school they attended, and she asked what their plans were. Kyle mentioned going by their newly purchased house and then head up to the football game. Of course Rachel wasn’t amused because football bores her. So they headed to the house and irritated – she made a snide remark about how she couldn’t wait to visit him at his house. Immediately after that was a blur but she remembers a ring and him calling the house “ours”. (She felt badly about her remark after that. lol)
Their story leads us to this story. A wedding day. Between two people with the kindest, most innocent, sweet love that you can just see is going to last a lifetime. It’s just so evident that someday they’ll be that old couple winning the anniversary dance for being married 50 years. We feel so lucky to see love like this and be part of their memories.
Enjoy a sneak peek at those memories today…It was a downpour at the time the ceremony was starting and Rachel was stuck in the house next door where she and the bridesmaids got ready. It was the worst scenario for a bride, but she handled it in total stride.
These two. We cannot say enough kind things about them.Rachel, you are freaking gorgeous!Such a fairytale setting for a fairytale love!We all ended up with mosquito bites – but dang it was worth it!
The most memorable moment of day:
Having to walk to the church during a monsoon looking like a spring roll wrapped up in plastic dress bags! I’ll never forget that!
Advice for future bride/grooms:
Take time to soak up everything. I didn’t believe people when they say the day goes by fast, but it does and it made me so sad!
Songs:
Our first dance had to be Elvis. Kyle is a HUGE Elvis fan and initially he didn’t want to dance to him because it was his sisters first dance and felt like he would be copying. But everyone knows he’s Elvis’ biggest fan! I knew he would change his mind and the week of he did! He felt like he had to ask his sister permission lol. She expected nothing less!
If you could do it all over, would you change anything?
I would have taken more time to talk to guests. I know it was impossible but I feel bad!
