Behind the scenes {What happens in the office…}

This blog has been all business for months now.  A blog follower asked recently “What about your personal blogs?  What’s been going on?”  Plenty of stuff has been going on, and we’ll be darned if we haven’t neglected to share it.  Our life is actually more than just taking photos, editing, and work.  Ever wonder what a day behind our computers look like?

Carla - I’m pretty sure I was one of the people requesting some fun posts and I cracked up when I saw this. Funny, that is exactly what I envisioned you and Roger doing. Ha!

Jamie Lane - Considering you have so much video & camera equipment, can I make a request? I want to see Karin & Rog do a lil ditty. A song. Maybe a dance? Heck – I’d settle for any video of the 2 of you. . . even if it was just you two of you sitting at your kitchen counter eating cereal.

Amanda Zika - Bahahaha – I remember seeing that video on Ellen! Love it!

Jordan H. {High School Senior}

One would think the seniors we’ve captured this year are actually paid models, and you wouldn’t be out of line to think that way. They have all been ridiculously good looking and work a camera like a pro. They other thing they’ve all been thus far is… female. So when we got the contact for Jordan’s session we were pumped. Finally a boy to mix it up a bit! Roger warned me to cut back on the words “cute” and “fierce” and to not ever, EVER say to “not be afraid to bring some sass to the table.” Wow. That really limited what I’d be able to say. Much to my surprise, it didn’t matter. I did not need to say one thing to get Jordan comfortable in front of the camera. He just naturally brought it. And even though he is super cute, and pretty fierce… I kept my words to myself. Until now. Enjoy Jordan’s senior photos!!!

Amanda Zika - You are hands down the best senior photographer in St. Louis – maybe even the whole country. I am dead serious. You should be doing workshops. Every single session is beyond amazing.

Victoria Q. {High School Senior}

It felt like photographing a professional model. Victoria is tall, gorgeous, has beautiful skin color, and has IT. When people talk about “it”, they are talking about the same exact thing Victoria has. She pulls off whatever look you request, and knows exactly what we were looking for without us ever saying a word. Tyra Banks would love this girl. But the best part? So would you. Because all of her model skills set aside, she’s just as sweet as she is beautiful and is just as talented at everything she sets her mind to as she is in front of the camera. She’s the trifecta if you will. Smart, beautiful, and funny. We were so fortunate to be chosen to capture her senior photos before she started her senior year. Enjoy Victoria’s senior session!!

Margaret Ziegenbein - I am blown away by these photographs! What outstanding work and what an amazing young lady to photograph!

Callie S. {H.S. Senior}

“People are going to think we’ve made a deal with the devil” I told Roger as we drove home from Callie’s senior session. “…who gets to photograph people that gorgeous with skies THAT blue with big puffy clouds?” Because seriously… Callie could model, and the skies? Well, they’re enough to make your local weather man drool. Callie was patient as we watched the weather each week, and we finally chose a day that wasn’t over a thousand degrees to do her session. Enjoy this small glimpse of what happened! Enjoy Callie’s senior photos!

Lisa Hessel - These are beautiful!! Wonderful work with off camera lighting and wow, Callie is GORGEOUS!!!!

Mary Lou Delaney - Granted, it wouldbe hard to make Callie look anything but beautiful. It’s always nice when you know they’re this pretty on the inside too. Regardless, you did a great job. I especially love the fair and caddy pictures.

Katie & Ray {Wedding Day}

There’s just something about a small town, down home wedding that is quaint and charming. It just feels a little like coming home. Even if you didn’t grown up in a small town, you probably can remember having to be home when the street lights came on, Sunday suppers, church potlucks, and all the comforts of simplicity. Katie & Ray’s wedding day had that feel. The guests were all family – and not just the blood kind. I mean the kind that if you needed a hand remolding your house they’d be there, if you were sick they’d come by with a casserole. The music during the ceremony was provided by guests singing from the hymnals, the appetizers at the reception were made by the bride and her mother, and the theme… was love. Enjoy Katie & Ray’s wedding.
