The day started off gloomy. It was raining in sheets and the sky was as gray is it can get. But you’d never know it walking into the room where Ashley and her bridesmaids were getting ready. It was absolute sunshine and excitement which must have rubbed off on Mother Nature, because she eventually gave us the same kind of day!!
A young girl envisions her wedding day a certain way. A beautiful princess dress, pretty friends in flowy dresses by your side, a majestic church, gorgeous flowers, and a handsome groom waiting for you at the end of the aisle. And that’s exactly what this day was. 100 years before the day and 100 years after – the details of a wedding might look different, but they feel the same. If there is one thing that never changes throughout history, it’s the joy of true love.
Enjoy Ashley & Ryan’s wedding day!Gah – two cutie girls!!!As I was getting ready to photograph Ashley I called her “Poopy”. Who does that? I said it with complete endearment – “Hey Poopy, come with me.” And then I realized – who wants to be called “Poopy” on their wedding day? Their could not possibly be a worse word. But – she seemed to enjoy it, or she pretended to.
So Poopy… (aka Ashley) could you have been any more gorgeous on your wedding day? I seriously gaze at this image and feel happy. You are like a real life Princess Barbie and one of the most beautiful brides I’ve ever seen. Oh dear God. When I saw this photo that Roger had taken I may have teared up a bit. How did he get this precious shot?!? His response – “She just looked right at me and did that, so I took a photo of it.” He’s pretty simple – and very modest. He definitely has a way with kids. I think they can sense one of their own. 😉and if you thought there were already enough adorable people this day, think again…Handsome AND nice…it’s no wonder Poopy wanted to spend forever with him!!!Yep – Roger again. He’s the child whisperer.Typically I stand in the front of the church during the processional and Roger stands in the back, so later he fills me in on anything I miss. So while I thought this was funny when it happened – it was even more funny when Roger told me what happened prior to this.
Apparently that sweet little guy on the right did NOT want to go down the aisle without a boutonniere on his shirt. In an effort to get him to go, someone put one in his pocket and he then proudly escorted the flower girl down the aisle. Like any gentleman (he’s being raised right!!) when the flower girl fell (which was cute on it’s own) he went to help her up – causing the flower to fall out of his pocket. Here he is helping her, then noticing the flower.
So as the flower girl got back on her feet, they both dusted themselves off and he proudly held his flower on his shoulder the rest of the way down the aisle. He finished by yelling to his dad – “Hey dad, I’ve got a flower.” This made my day.
I love that moment when a bride or groom looks at their ring for the first time on their finger. Such a sweet moment.Seriously. You rock my world.
Am I the only one that sees almost a heart on the barn? Fairly sure that was a sign.
PS – Nice job with the N2B wedding party. 😉So maybe it’s not just kids Roger is good at capturing…I’m sorry – I just can’t get enough of Poopy. Isn’t she just stunning?Cake Pops. That’s all.
Ashley and Ryan – your love is sweet and adorable, just like the two of you!! Thank you for choosing us for your day!! Just like the cake pops (I only had 4) it was a pleasure and a delight!! XOX
