KAYLA + PATRICK

Kayla and Patrick met on Bumble, an online dating app. Kayla messaged Patrick first. Their first date was at a friend’s Halloween party where the two went as Forest Gump and Jenny. They dated for 3 years and fell in love along the way. When Patrick was getting ready to leave for the Missouri State Highway Patrol academy he wanted to take Kayla to see the academy where he would be staying for the next 6 months. After, he took Kayla to Washington, Missouri, the town in Franklin County where he wanted to get placed. Even though they knew it was a long shot to get placed there, he still wanted to show her the town. While walking along a path on the riverfront, Patrick stopped along the walk and proposed.
The two wanted a rustic/farmhouse-style wedding, and as soon as they toured Indian Creek Farmstead they knew it was the perfect place. “We both knew right away it was where we wanted to get married. It just had a special feel. The venue had multiple buildings we had access to. One building for drinks, one for food, and one for the reception. The building for food and the building for drinks were both old barns, and each of them had been decorated with antiques. The venue fit our taste of old and rustic. ”
Their #1 goal of the day was to ensure the day was memorable, and they certainly achieved that!  It was a gorgeous fall day at such a perfect setting! Enjoy a peek at Kayla and Patrick’s wedding day.

Of all the many years we’ve been photographing weddings, this was the first time we’d seen this gorgeous color of bridesmaid dresses!  The color name was saffron, which let’s face it – is a much prettier name than mustard lol.

Any couple that doesn’t complain when you interrupt their wedding meal because the sunset is too good to miss is the very best! As soon as we saw the magic happening with the sky we quickly grabbed the two and enjoyed some beautiful moments as the sun set.

“Do not stress and worry over small details. Good planning helps ensure your special day is what you want it to be. When the wedding day comes, and things may not be going exactly the way planned, do not let it get you down. Improvise. You should not let anything get in the way of the real reason you are there, and that is to marry your best friend.”

We could not agree more! Congratulations Kayla and Patrick!!

The two call that special place where they got engaged – Washington MO home.
