Jennifer was the Varsity Cheerleader, Nathan was the cool football player. It may be the cliche beginning, but it isn’t the true beginning of Jennifer & Nate. Nate was in the military and deployed to Egypt when Jennifer’s thoughts first wondered where her old friend Nate might be. It’d been years since he’d walked her to class and made her laugh, and it was years until she’d cross paths with him again. But cross paths they did. On a evening out with Mr.Wrong, Jennifer saw Nathan across the bar and immediately went to catch up and see how he’d been. She sat and laughed and reminisced with Nate and other old friends and talked about old times. In the mean time – Mr.Wrong decided to leave Jennifer there in St.Louis by herself. Jennifer needless to say was distraught. The relationship she was currently in had gone from bad to worse and this was the last straw. Nate helped her pick up the pieces, was a shoulder to lean on, and politely drove her home. She swore that this amazing single man… was gay. Because any straight, sweet and tender man would be married or taken – and her old friend Nate was not. Assuring her he was not, she had to find out for herself. They kept in touch, Jennifer dumped Mr.Wrong, and in a short time Nate became Jennifer’s best friend – and someone she couldn’t live without.
Maybe it was Jennifer’s sweet smile, or her caring nature, or even the fact that she made him an amazing cheesecake for his birthday that he swears was the moment “he knew”, but Nate couldn’t live without Jennifer and was ready for her to be his wife. So during a party at Jennifer’s mom’s house – he guided her to the gazebo, got down on one knee and asked him to be his wife. He recounts her beating him at this point and asking him if it was a joke – she recalls lightly tugging on him asking him if it was for real. No matter which version it was – the answer was yes as the guests looked on in tears and cheered.
Jennifer & Nathan are planning a September 2011 wedding at which they will each marry their best friend. Enjoy Jennifer & Nathan’s engagement photos!
