SUZANNE + BRIAN – WEDDING DAY

They were set up by mutual friends at the Warrensburg Corn Festival. Before meeting, Brian had gotten Suzanne’s phone number from friends and the two exchanged messages for a couple of weeks, but when they met it was instant.  He immediately noticed and loved her smile.  They danced in the street to a Jimmy Buffet cover band.  She instantly noticed his sense of humor and his dance moves.

The two dated long-distance for over a year. One Sunday night after a weekend together, Suzanne realized once she left that she did not want to leave at all. She made it two blocks before turning around to come back. Right then she knew he was “the one.” He loves her compassion, that she would bend over backward to make others happy. She loves his ability to find humor in anything, always finding the positive in any situation. Together they can be their true selves, talk about anything, and solve any problem together. They lift each other up.

On November 16th 2019, Suzanne’s family was in town for an RCIA event, as Brian was in the process of becoming Catholic. They had everyone over to Brian’s house for dinner, and once they all left to go to the hotel for the evening the two were cleaning up the after dinner and started to dance in the kitchen (which is not uncommon for the two). Brian played Suzanne’s favorite song “Dancing in the Moonlight” and proposed right there in the kitchen.

Amidst a pandemic and all of the stress that covid caused, these two were able to say “I do” in front family and friends, some of which traveled from a distance. They enjoyed listening to the homily from our priest, Fr. Jay, who traveled from Fort Wayne. They felt very blessed in every moment, surrounded by family and friends.  Enjoy Suzanne and Brian’s wedding day.
Brian’s favorite moment of the day was seeing Suzanne walk down the aisle.  “I had envisioned and anticipated that moment for so long.”A moment that Suzanne certainly won’t forget… “I almost put Brian’s wedding ring on the wrong hand. LOL”

From the bride and groom:

We had a reception venue change 1 month prior to the wedding. We got very lucky with a brand new venue that had finished construction early, otherwise it would have likely been an outdoor reception.

The constant changes and restrictions. We knew that changes would happen, but the continuous changes made it difficult and stressful at times. Thank goodness for our parents!!

We wouldn’t change a thing, it was absolutely perfect in every way despite all of the ups and downs. But NO COVID would have been nice!

It made us truly reflect and realize that becoming husband and wife was the most important. We would have gotten married with or without a party.

Don’t reschedule your wedding day. At the end of the day, the most important part is your marriage. It did not matter to us how many or how few people were there.

SONGS:
You Are The Reason by Calum Scott and Leona Lewis
Dancing in the Moonlight by King Harvest
I Want to Grow Old with You by Adam Sandler

Special shout-out:
We worked with Paluma Events. They were absolutely wonderful to work with. My college friend Carrie did an amazing job on the bouquets. Everyone bent over backward to make our day special!

Honeymoon Location:
We went to Aruba. We originally planned to go to Ireland, although due to COVID it did not work out. We hope to go to Ireland for our 5 year anniversary.

The two call Fort Wayne Indiana home
