Emily & Mike {engaged} A Blind Date Success Story

If Mike were to tell you two things about courting Emily – it would be that blind dates can work, and that ending a first date with a handshake might not be the worst thing in the world – but he wouldn’t recommend it.

Emily’s cousin worked with Mike and figured they’d be a great match, and being the adventurous people they are – Emily & Mike agreed to be set up on a blind date.  Mike planned the enitre evening.  Dinner at Favazza’s on The Hill and drinks and great conversation.  Most of the conversation portion was carried out by Mike.  That is until the end of the date.  Speechless and dumbfounded on how to end the date, Mike did what any charmer would do and went to give Emily a firm hand shake.  He then managed to drop his keys and after envisioning living life single due to the awkward blunders, he gained his composure and kissed Emily on the cheek.  This moment ended up being Emily’s favorite memory of their first date.  Mike – not so much.

True to form – planning to pop the question went equally as smoothly as the end of their first date.  Mike admittedly has a way of making everything a little more complicated that it should be, and is also not exactly up to speed on how one covers their tracks.  Like the fact that you shouldn’t leave jewelry websites up on your computer, nor should you leave a Jeweler’s business card in your wallet.  When all was said and done – thanks to Mike’s absentmindedness – EMily ended up with a new bracelet, a bicyle and a ring all before the day they got engaged.  Regardless – Emily had no idea when she followed a trail of candles that they would lead to Mike on one knee – that today was the day the love of her life would ask her to marry him.

The nerves and pounding hearts didn’t end at the first date – and they don’t plan to end anytime soon.  Mike cannot wait to see Emily on their wedding day in late October of this year- walking down the aisle in her wedding dress.  I’m sure the same butterflies will be there when he first lays eyes on her that day, and for Emily as they say their vows – knowing that she gets to spend her life with her best friend – a man who makes her life happier than she’d ever known it could be.

Emily & Mike – Roger and I look very forward to your wedding day, and knowing you.  Your love is refreshing!  enjoy your photos…

Laura - I love this! Beautiful!

Amanda Zika - Okay, love, love, love their story. By the time I got done reading the story and the video I was entranced. What a cool couple. As always fabulous photos and video. The color in those flowers is beautiful!

Mary Janezick - Well, I think I’m rather speechless. I held Michael in my arms when he was just a wee baby. His eyes melted mine as he reminded me of a child I had to give up some years before. I watched him grow up across the street from me for 20 years. He had a lot of friends and was pretty much always a smart and good child.
When I saw him later at his father’s wake, I saw how this child had matured into such a fine and kind young man. He was so handsome and so sweet spoken, it was like he had never gone away from the neighborhood.
When I see this story, it brings tears of joy to see how he has found the love that will last a lifetime.
You’re starting a wonderful life with this beautiful young woman Mike, and you’ll be the strong foundation to hold you together forever.
Nothing but the best of luck to you and yours always. I know your mother must be so very proud.
Mary and Jim Janezick.

Barb Lodes - You two show how much in love you are, and that you had a great time during your photo shoot. Great pictures! Emily and Mike keep having fun with each other and never forget to laugh with each other. Love you both.
Aunt Barb and Goddad Steve.
