We met Sophie and Mike all the way back in 2015. The two were planning a May 2017 wedding, but their venue wouldn’t be available until January 1 2016. Sophie happened to be a bridesmaid in Erin + Adam’s New Years Eve wedding, and talking to Mike that day he mentioned he’d be contacting the venue after the ball dropped at midnight to secure their day. Getting your perfect wedding venue is cutthroat people, you have to be aggressive. Despite the fact that the two ended up having too much fun to actually see through the plan of contacting at midnight, they were able to still secure the date and book Cedar Lake Cellars for their wedding venue. It gave the two a year and a half to look forward to the big day, and we absolutely loved getting to know these two over that time. They are such a sweet couple and truly complete one another.
Sometimes after a long engagement the planning can wear on a couple and they can become a bit “over it”. But these two both were genuinely so excited for this day! Every piece of the day was joyful to the two and their family, wedding party, and friends celebrated in that excitement right along with them. It is so inspiring to see a couple so well supported by their circle, but it’s no question why they are the recipients of so much love. They are impossible not to adore.
Enjoy Sophie and Mike’s wedding day!
We were super excited to photograph at Cedar Lake Cellars. It is the most gorgeous setting and an amazing staff of people! Anyone considering this location for their venue should absolutely grab it up!! Sophie – you were an absolute vision on your wedding day. Just a classic beauty. Your dress, everything from head to toe was perfection.Mike – you pulled off the look of a groom like a boss. Loved all of your attention for details!A perfect day always has to start with a perfect first look!Seriously though this setting lent itself to HUNDREDS of great images!!With a wonderful amount of time to get wonderful photos prior to the ceremony, all that was left to do was to say I do and celebrate!!MARRIED!!!We were able to quickly grab the couple for some sunset pics. Even though it threatened rain all day, it only rained for 5 minutes during the welcome toast, and ended up being a gorgeous sunset to end a gorgeous day!
We’ve never seen a toast with this incredible of a backdrop in all our years! How gorgeous is this!?!
