She invited one of her oldest friends to a birthday party she was throwing. “Could I bring a friend?” he asked. And of corse Katie answered “The more the merrier!”. When her friend showed, there was Jeremy. Sparks flew right away, but it wasn’t until running into him again 2 weeks later that Jeremy actually got her number. He called – not text – to ask her out on a date. After a wonderful dinner at Taste in the Central West End, Jeremy suggested going to a dive bar in the city – Tom’s Bar and Grill – which just so happened to be Katie’s favorite. The two laughed the night away, and even though it seemed effortless, in hindsight they can now see how nervous one another was.
They hadn’t really talked about getting engaged, although she assumed it would someday be in the cards. 😉 So on a day with friends during a tour of Busch Stadium there was no way she could have know what was about to transpire. At the end of the tour when the guide suggested getting their photos taken on home plate, Jeremy took Katie’s hand and reminisced about all the great memories they had there, and he wanted to make his favorite memory right then – and with that he was down on one knee asking her to marry him. She was shocked and surprised, but that wouldn’t be the last of the surprises. Over the speakers her favorite song by The Beatles “All You Need Is Love” began to play, and the entire group on the tour broke out into a flash mob dance! Katie’s sister and best friend from Chicago came running out of the dugout, and the entire thing was like a scene from a movie!! Jeremy had arranged for their friends and family to join them that evening in a suite at the game to celebrate. To say Katie was on cloud 9 would be an understatement. When they finally had time to catch their breath, Katie asked Jeremy how long he’d been planning this elaborate plan. Being together, it’s hard to keep secrets, but he had managed to keep it from her for 8 months while he planned! On one hand, she couldn’t believe he was able to keep a secret like that so long – but on the other she recognizes that he’s the most thoughtful person she knows. The two can’t wait to say their “I do”s this summer in St.Louis, and enjoy a lifetime more of thoughtful surprises, and endless laughter.
A couple that can laugh together, stays together – and I think you’ll be able to see just how genuinely these two enjoy one another’s company. They are incredibly warm and adorable in every way. Enjoy a peek at their engagement session!!!
