Carrie met Tommy at the very beginning of High School. They had an instant attraction and starting calling and texting one another. In the midst of all that talking, Carrie soon had a revelation… she didn’t like Tommy that much. He was very athletic and into every sport imaginable and it seemed to her that he thought a little too highly of his athletic abilities. Still interested in Carrie, Tommy continued to pursue her. Until one night when she finally told him how she felt – and at that moment the communicating stopped. They’d see one another throughout their high school years, and there was always an attraction… a spark maybe. Towards the end of high school they would se one another at basketball games and events and it became apparent that Tommy wasn’t at all how she’d thought, and they actually had very much in common. They gave it another shot, and have been together ever since.

She’d noticed him out plenty of times. He was cute, but way too shy to approach her. When he finally got the courage one night, she was taken and had to decline when he asked for her number. But she couldn’t stop thinking about him for weeks. Eventually after that relationship had dissolved, she told a friend when getting ready to head out for an evening out “I hope we run into Warren tonight!”, and sure enough as they walked in – there he was. He approached her a little more easily this time, and they talked all night. A mutual friend had after hours and both decided to go. They talked the night away and at one point he asked her to dance. There in the middle of a garage they slow danced and he kissed her. The rest -as they say- is history.
They’d met in passing several times, although neither one really remember the other. However the connection was instant after a few times of crossing paths. At a friend’s party that Lauren wasn’t even supposed to be at, she and Justin began talking. They hung out all night and at the end of the party he managed to get her number. Little did she know, he had no idea what her name was. After asking around, her friends told him her name was Frizzo – her last name that all her close friends call her by. To this day when you look at his phone Lauren remains under “Frizzo”. Little could he have known that eventually her last name would be his.
During their first year together they went on a trip to Vegas. Family and friends worried that they’d get married while they were there. Little did everyone know it would be 6 years before that would happen!! Rob will say he knew on that trip, while Suzy admits it took longer for her. But when she knew, she knew. And she made it known in no subtle manner that she was ready. She picked out the ring, showed him, then started putting photos of it on his computer. She had no idea that he not only already had the ring, he’d already taken her parents to brunch to ask for their approval. (Later stories tell that Suzy’s mom was saying YES before he could even get the words out!)
Sometimes when you are dating someone, you ask yourself if the person you are with is “the one”. And sometimes, you know immediately. “When you know, you know.” It’s not just the little signs – like the fact that she wore that amazing green dress on their first date and it just happened to be his favorite color – it’s the deep resounding feeling that you know this person is someone you’ll spend forever with. Plain and simple.
Both Brittany and Adam had similar goals. Similar plans. Both enjoy order and a plan, so the plan was: Finish their MBAs, buy a house, get engaged, live happily ever after. So as the check marks slowly grew, they both knew the next step wasn’t far off.
